OK, so giving is better than receiving right? Right?!? Your answer is supposed to be yes, mam or.. or I’ll whack you with a stick.  I mean it. OK, well now that we are clear about the real meaning of XMAST, you should know that METROPOLI is putting together their annual POSADA this coming Dec. 22nd at the Mt. Bar in busy Chinatown. With a very special performance by LILO and  their resident DJs (CARLOS METROPOLI, LA MUY MUY & FANCY GUEY.)  They know we are broke, broke, broke so they’ll be NO COVER! Zero, none…FREE ALL NITE! Parking is also free. So, if you think about it there isn’t really no excuse to come party with us.  There won’t be any cover but we are asking all our attendees to bring an unwrapped toy to be donated to our chicali kids.  Hence the whole “giving is better than receiving” reverse psychology thing. Yeah, I had to make you feel guilty in order to help out, no? I’ll seriously stop now but we truly hope you can join us at the “POSADA POP” where GLAM AND POP divert into the perfect excuse to get out of your warm fuzzy (very unsexy) PJ’S and come out and dance your shoes away, one last time;  to the rhythm of LA. !

with a very special LIVE  performance by

DON’T FORGET TO BRING AN UNWRAPPED TOY; WHICH WILL BE COLLECTED BY OUR SEXIEST REINDEER!  ;)

VL12 is not the latest or newly discovered  vitamin to improve your health neither an ointment to make your facial hair go away. VL12 stands for VIVE LATINO 2012, a musical festival event happening once again this year in Mexico City.  I’ll give you some background just in case you have been living under a rock for the past 12 years or so, you never know! I heard some extreme cases of sedentary individuals or plain anti-socials. OK, so el VIVE is to Mexico and Latin America what Coachella would be to us.  A one weekend grand spectacle of music, arts and a lot of youth running around half naked.  It’s first edition was done back in 1998 with performances by Ángeles del Infierno, Illia Kuryaki, Kenny y los Eléctricos, Aterciopelados among others.  It has also been an opportunity for upcoming bands to take center stage and get out of obscurity.  This year’s line up is as follow… (too many, artist for me to singly mention, so I went ahead and copied and pasted the back side of their promotional flyer, hoping you would mind my laziness. THANK YOU!) :)

So, there you have it! If you get a chance to go to VL2012 this year, please take us with you, or at the very least recommend us the best of what you see and hear. We at Audio Elemental are always looking for new music to be added to our regular programming and your suggestions are always welcome!

Nominations for the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards were announced this past November 30th on primetime TV.  Adele, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Rihana, Nicki Minaj among others where named in the live telecast as nominees. Audio Elemental ecstatically celebrates our Latino ”Independent”  nominees specially those listed on the BEST LATIN POP, ROCK, OR URBAN ALBUM because frankly that’s the music we play.  L.A. based Gustavo Galindo, La Vida Boheme and Los Amigos invisibles; both from Venezuela and National Records artist, are our picks.  We wish them all the luck in the world and we’ll make sure to tune in to the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards to be held on Feb. 12, 2012, at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles. But in the meanwhile, let’s continue celebrating with their  music!
